Jackie Powers, O.D.
Jackie Powers is a Doctor of Optometry. Her first year of optometry school, Dr. Powers was asked to be the vision therapist to Dr. WC Maples, one of her professors who also had a private practice he ran through the school. It was this experience that led Dr. Powers to her love for vision therapy. Dr. Powers has experience in vision therapy as both a doctor and a patient. Vision therapy corrected her own convergence insufficiency.
Dr. Powers obtained her undergraduate degree from Northeastern State University with a major in Organismic Biology, and obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in 2006. Dr. Powers opened her own private practice in 2008 and has been serving the area of Norman since that time. In addition to providing comprehensive eye examinations, she is responsible for assessing and developing the individualized vision therapy programs for each patient. She is a member of the Oklahoma Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
